Tumaini

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 November 2026

Tumaini is made by Kitendo Group (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the Tumaini app collects, why, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, email contact@kitendo.net.

In short: we collect only what the app needs to work. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use advertising or analytics trackers. You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app at any time.

Information we collect

Your account

What you choose in the app

What you write

How you use the app

Stored only on your device

What we do not collect

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or device advertising ID, and the app contains no advertising or third-party analytics tools.

How we use it

We do not use your information for advertising and we do not sell it.

Sharing

Your data is stored with Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Cloud Functions), run by Google on its cloud servers. Google processes it only to provide these services to us. If you sign in with Google or Apple, that company handles the sign-in under its own privacy policy.

When you share a quote card, the image goes only where you send it. Your name appears on it only if you turn on “Include my name”.

We may disclose information if the law requires it. Otherwise we do not share your information with anyone.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Firebase. Access rules on our database mean each account can read only its own private data, such as reflections.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your information while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Profile → Delete Account. This immediately and permanently deletes your profile, journal reflections, streak, Embers and connections, and your sign-in account. See Delete your account for other ways to ask.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it by emailing contact@kitendo.net. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law, and you can complain to your data protection authority.

Children

Tumaini is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
